927 people charged with 'incitement to hatred' since 2017, Foro Penal says; VTV defends the reform and the opposition demands repeal

Delcy Rodríguez said on VTV: 'We have sent the National Assembly a proposal to reform the hate law, for democratic coexistence and for tolerance.' The state channel devoted special programs to the partial reform, which VTV says 'will strengthen civic coexistence', and recalled that the law was passed by the Constituent Assembly in 2017.

According to VPItv, Foro Penal reported that at least 927 people have been charged with incitement to hatred since 2017. Sergio Novelli reported that the Plataforma Unitaria demanded immediate repeal and that six people remain detained under that law. César Miguel Rondón asked why Delcy Rodríguez wants to reform it rather than repeal it.

TalCual and David Placeres report that police are hunting Valentín Santana, leader of the La Piedrita colectivo

Journalist Sebastiana Barráez said on TalCual that there is 'information and evidence that there is an order to arrest Valentín Santana', leader of the La Piedrita colectivo in 23 de Enero, and that audio clips attributed to him have circulated for two days. David Placeres had said on September 30 that Diosdado Cabello 'is already pursuing and handing over the leaders of the colectivos'.

Placeres also said the FBI 'sent a team to Venezuela to carry out intelligence work' and that the National Guard 'is clashing with the ELN in an area of Táchira near the Colombian border'. These are the commentators' claims, which they attribute to their own sources.
