Delcy Rodríguez asks the National Assembly to decriminalize the Hate Law 'as a matter of urgency'

Acting president Delcy Rodríguez asked the National Assembly for a partial reform of the Constitutional Law against Hatred, according to the letter read at the September 29 session broadcast by Luigino Bracci. The text says the reform seeks to 'advance the decriminalization of the conducts set out' in that law and asks that it be treated 'as a matter of urgency'.

The president of parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, announced a special committee for the bill and said the initiative will be sent to the Supreme Court's Constitutional Chamber before debate. On her show, Patricia Poleo said the appointment of the new justices 'will not be this year'.

The National Assembly names the preliminary commission that will form the nominations committee for the new Supreme Court

The National Assembly named the deputies of the preliminary commission that will form the judicial nominations committee, the step before a new Supreme Court is appointed. Deputy Giuseppe Alessandrello, who chairs that commission, said its goal is to call on citizens who want to join the committee, according to Luigino Bracci's channel.

Patricia Poleo said that committee 'will only review credentials' and that the one appointing the justices will have 11 deputies and 12 members of civil society called by those same deputies. 'We are already in October,' she said, 'so the appointment of the Supreme Court justices will not be this year.'

«The goal of this preliminary commission is exactly that: to call for nominations from citizens who wish to join the judicial nominations committee.»— Giuseppe Alessandrello, deputy (quoted by Luigino Bracci), September 30, 2026 · watch
