Delcy Rodríguez's government notifies the UN of Venezuela's exit from the International Criminal Court

Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia on Friday announced the "firm and irrevocable" decision to leave the ICC by denouncing the Rome Statute, and notified UN Secretary-General António Guterres, El Nacional reported. According to AP, Plasencia accused the Court of a geographic bias against African and Latin American countries.

AP noted that the withdrawal takes effect one year after notification and that the investigation into alleged crimes against humanity remains active. On NTN24, an analyst linked the decision to the US government's criticism of the Court.

Trump says Venezuela is not ready for elections as US lawmakers meet Delcy Rodríguez

Donald Trump said on Friday at the White House that Venezuela is not yet ready for elections but that there has been "great progress," and said Delcy Rodríguez is doing "a fantastic job," according to VPItv. David Placeres called Trump's answer "his automatic answer."

A US congressional delegation met Delcy Rodríguez in Caracas, Infobae reported. According to NTN24, the group is led by Republican Brian Mast and also met Jorge Rodríguez, president of the National Assembly.

One month after the double earthquake, Delcy Rodríguez visits La Guaira and María Corina Machado says no one should grieve alone

Delcy Rodríguez attended a mass and an event in La Guaira one month after the June 24 quake. VPItv reported more than 5,300 dead and more than 29,000 missing, and cited Doctors Without Borders: 6,000 people remain on the street.

María Corina Machado sent a message of solidarity to affected families and to Venezuelans abroad, released by Vente Venezuela.
