José David Cabello, Diosdado's brother, leaves Seniat to head Pequiven

Acting president Delcy Rodríguez removed José David Cabello, brother of minister Diosdado Cabello, from Seniat after 18 years in the post, Infobae reported. He is replaced by Román Maniglia, 42, a former president of Banco de Venezuela. Cabello will now head Pequiven, according to Infobae and La Patilla.

On the opposition side, David Placeres read it as a blow to Diosdado Cabello's power, saying he loses control of taxes for the first time in nearly three decades. On NTN24, an analyst said Cabello is not pleased with the presence of 2,000 US troops in the country.

Delcy Rodríguez launches the Venezuela Renace plan to repair homes damaged by the earthquakes

From Avenida Bolívar in Caracas, Delcy Rodríguez launched the Venezuela Renace plan to repair homes damaged by the two June 24 earthquakes in seven states, according to VTV. La Guaira is the priority, La Iguana TV reported. Rodríguez said she has asked Japan, Peru and Chile for specialists.

On the opposition side, Daniel Lara Farías criticized putting the reconstruction in the hands of Jacqueline Faría, who accompanied Rodríguez at the event.

María Corina Machado repeats she will return to Venezuela 'step by step'; Bolton says Trump advisers stopped her flight

María Corina Machado repeated that she will return to Venezuela and that it is a promise kept step by step, NTN24 reported. The channel cited John Bolton, Trump's former national security adviser, who said Trump's advisers rejected her return after the earthquake. Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar urged that she be allowed back.
