Axios: U.S. negotiating with Delcy Rodríguez's government for a stake in more than a dozen oil fields

Donald Trump's administration is close to a deal for an ownership stake in Venezuelan oil fields, Axios reported. It would cover more than a dozen fields holding about 90 billion barrels of proven reserves. Marco Rubio and acting president Delcy Rodríguez are leading the talks; Stephen Miller plays a major role and Chris Wright plans a trip to Venezuela.

"It is massive," a U.S. official told Axios. In return, Venezuela would get more oil revenue from developing those fields, the outlet said. On VTV, a guest recalled the hit to oil income and the growth of non-oil exports.
