Maduro and Cilia Flores to stand trial June 1, 2027 in Manhattan

Judge Alvin Hellerstein set the trial of Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores for June 1, 2027, Reuters reported. At a roughly 20-minute hearing, he gave the defense until September 2 to file motions, including a bid to dismiss the case on head-of-state immunity grounds, and set arguments for November 17.

On the opposition side, NTN24 stressed that the couple never looked at each other in court, and David Placeres said evidence disclosure continues until trial. State TV barely mentioned Maduro this week.
