Avavit: Maiquetía airport resumes commercial flights on August 24 with about eight daily flights

Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía will resume commercial operations on Monday, August 24, with about eight daily flights at first, Avavit president Vicky Herrera de Díaz confirmed, according to El Impulso. Security and immigration checks will run in tents holding 1,260 passengers; the official list of airlines and final schedules have not been published yet.

The same day, Venezuela's College of Engineers said that of 11,185 buildings inspected in the Caracas metro area after the June 24 earthquakes, 1,119 (10%) got a red tag for serious structural failures, 1,544 yellow and 8,620 green, El Impulso reported. State TV is talking about earthquakes almost twelve times more than its average for the year.
