Alex Saab pleads not guilty to money laundering before a Miami federal court

Colombian businessman and former Venezuelan minister Alex Saab pleaded not guilty on Friday to money laundering and other financial crimes, according to Reuters and VPItv. His lawyers entered the plea at a brief hearing in Miami that Saab did not attend, and asked for a jury trial, VPItv reported.

The case comes days after, according to Patricia Poleo, the Trump administration asked for immunity for Delcy Rodríguez in a Miami lawsuit brought by three Americans who were jailed in Venezuela.
