Chris Wright and Delcy Rodríguez oversee oil deals with Chevron, Eni and GE Vernova at Miraflores

US Energy Secretary Chris Wright and acting president Delcy Rodríguez on Wednesday led the signing of deals with Chevron, Eni and GE Vernova at Miraflores. According to UPI, the package gives US companies majority control over 65 billion barrels, with 100-year concessions; Bloomberg reported the deals aim to lift output.

VTV called it a 'historic agreement' and quoted Rodríguez estimating revenue of $209.335 billion. From the hardline chavista camp, Mario Silva said that figure must be spread over 100 years. David Placeres claimed 20% of what Alejandro Betancourt's company produces will go to the US.
